Reflection to Final Version of Research Paper

Reflection on Smile of Terror             While writing my research paper, I realize that most of the time I use present and past tense in one sentence. I often attend the writing center for this issue. The use of quotes an explaining was not a trouble for me; the library sections help me a lot when I look for articles.  The peer review helps me a lot when It came to reduce extra words. For example, my introduction was one and half page long, but with the help of Nicolas a peer, I was able to omit unnecessary details. Also, he helped me introduce a very hard point between to paragraphs. Overall the research when in the right way I was able to add more emotion and logic into it. I wanted to add more illustrations, but I was unable to find a specific spot where to add them.             In my personal view, the research itself have all needed for a good grade, but th...

Smiles of Terror  Abstract This research paper is mostly about psychopaths which are defined as cold headed people with no consciousness or morality. They are often tagged as serial killers or monsters with no affection towards others. This paper will also explain the differences between male psychopaths, woman psychopaths and sociopaths. Some findings stated that psychopaths make around one percent of our population, and are considered dangerous because of their uncontrollable behavior. They seem to just care about themselves, what they see as a motivation is power and high prestige. If we compare a woman psychopath to a male psychopath, the ratio is three to one with man having the highest percentage of psychopathy. Sociopaths are often tag as psychopaths which is wrong, psychopaths are considered more dangerous because of their thought-out plans. The reason why they become psychopaths is yet unknown but most of the evidence points to a biopsychosocial impact. KEY WORDS:...

Pay to Live, and Sell to Eat   Human trafficking has been a big and controversial topic. People that donate organs illegally or being force to work as sexual slaves is something that is not tolerated. In my English course we had some reading in were human trafficking was discus. Facts about it were brought up, and most of the people who suffer for human trafficking come from the low-income families and countries. Is an option that people decide to take to gain some money or something they are force to work because they fear of the consequences. Is an easy way for people to found donors when they need it, even though is illegal there are not a lot of law against it when we compare it with war against drugs.             Human trafficking sure is a big problem but some benefits can be found on it. For example, finding donors to save someone’s life, but when it comes to force people to work as sex slaves then it became...

My Life My Choice  “Don’t let anyone affect the way you think” those were the word my mom told me when I followed my friends into the wrong path of cutting class. After a few days of though I finally realize how important those words were. To not let yourself become a victim of peer pressure, or to let other influence in your ideologies. After readying some experiments done by the common people I realize how the idea of peer pressure sure was a problem. For example, in the articles student who knew were right in the decision they made, decided to choose the wrong answer to avoid an uncomfortable moment. Also in the video were a man is in the elevator following the other people around him, he follows without questioning.  In the video that we saw during the English101 -53 we see peer pressure play a big role in weather someone makes de right or wrong decision. In fact, it does make a big difference in a person mind, if this type of pressure is put into a big scale it ...

Follow until the end? After reading an article base on punishment and obedience, I was Astonish on how far a person can go following the orders of a superior. The idea of punishing someone with high voltage shocks just for the sake of it is very scary. How far a human being can go in just to satisfy a person with power. This made my think of how human being are so easy no manipulate and because of that they cause harm to others. That’s not right, people should have more to say when it comes to decision making. Why follow someone who can be dangerous?  In fact, humans are good at following orders but to what extreme? Even though some people did worry about the person being punish and try to stop the experiment they still follow orders, when they were told that they won’t be accused of anything that happen to the person being punish. That they were free of charges and all the consequence will be taken by the person in charge, people continue punishing an innocent person. Some...

My Sensei (Mentor)                 During our English class we watch a film about Brad Cohen live and what effects his Tourette syndrome had on his life. Tourette syndrome is a mental disorder that cause involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics. This film shows us what a mentor is and who is a mentor, a great example of this is Mr. Myer that thought all the other kids not to bully Brad because what he had was he couldn’t control it and it was a disorder. A mentor is someone that wipes ignorance with knowledge, someone that teach you an important lesson in life, someone that is ready to overcome any obstacle with you. A person that believe and help others to achieve their goals. That is who a mentor is, Mr. Myer and Brad Cohen are both mentors.            When I was in high school one of my teachers, Ms. Kuang a Mathematics teacher, taught me an important lesson that I never forg...
